With assistance from Adam Hoyle
An audio tape of birdsong from the Wiltshire garden of Digital One's chairman has been used as the test transmission for various digital radio stations since it’s recording in the spring of 1992.
When it was last taken off air three years ago, the broadcaster was surprised to find it had dedicated listeners voicing complaint.
Radio Arcadia is my gift to all office and cubicle workers. Play gently. Escape.

Where originally each soundscape in SoundBox was programmed to allow a full range of expression by the player -
a visual recording studio -
Algorhythms are instead more focused and concentrated instruments.
Each algorhythm has been programmed with a particular style in mind,
although like any system of play the user can alter the initial presets and discover motifs un-thought of by the author

Completing ‘SoundBox’ raised several questions and opened fresh possibilities between the interaction of two dimensional screen based movement and a resulting interpretation in sound, these issues are addressed in a new suite of works entitled ‘Algorhythms’.

id-profiler started as an idea to locate people's persona or personal identities whilst logged on to the Internet. ...during this connection, we leave some trace of ourselves (somewhat like footprints in the sand), which can be picked up, scanned and encoded long after we have left this location. This >tracing< or >profiling< device would allow to feel or sense who has entered a centain web site and thus provide a possible image or profile of those visitors.

A requiem, a travelogue, a celebration, a memory, a story. Set in the lands of childhood and recollection.
Another country, on the border between memory and existence. A place where we all once lived, becoming ever more unreachable.
Stamps in time.
To say anymore would be to ruin the journey...
The page as virtual message in a bottle. Adrift to a stranger's browser window, the parchment replaced with new pronouncement, the bottle thrown again. Each message becoming a memory...

“Walking Time makes use of Internet traffic to set pictures in motion. It takes keywords from a search engine in order to generate a dynamic time code. Keywords found stimulate a fast framerate while low traffic causes the pictures to slow down and eventually reverse their sequence.
As a result surprising and often amusing situations occur. Strangers begin to move in a seemingly connected ballet, dancing and repeating movements in a pattern that evokes a familiar relationship.”

Soundbox is neither dictionary nor game, it is conceived instead in the spirit of a toy, a digital equivalent to the building and modelling clay of our early childhood. When the toy is first opened the possibilities of the many wondrous things one can operate is revealed. The more you play with each one, the more aware you become of it’s systems, forces and subtle properties.
